Is Tierless really free?
Yes, with no strings. No commission on your assignments, no subscription, no paid option to be seen first. It is the companies that pay a monthly subscription.
So how do you make money?
Companies pay to post assignments and get in touch with you. The price is flat: it depends neither on your day rate nor on the number of assignments you win. So we have no interest in your rates going up.
Who sees my profile?
Registered companies see your track record, your skills, your day rate and your availability, but not your name or your contact details. Your identity only appears when a company opens a conversation with you.
Could my employer come across my profile?
They can see an anonymised profile that looks like you, as any registered company can. Your name only appears once a conversation has been opened, and it is up to you whether to reply.
What do you do with my CV?
It is read once and turned into a structured profile: dates, job titles, skills. The document itself is not kept, and it is discarded as soon as it has been read. The text you wrote is never rewritten or reworded.
Why ask me to confirm my availability every 15 days?
Because a profile whose availability is six months old is of no use to you or to the companies. Without confirmation your profile drops out of the results, and it comes back as soon as you answer.
Can I change what the model pulled out of my CV?
Every field can be edited, including the roles, the skills and the text. If a date or a job title has been misread, correct it.
What happens to my data if I leave?
Deleting your account erases your profile, your applications and your messages. You can also export your skills profile as a PDF before you go.
Is my day rate made public?
It is visible to registered companies, and it feeds the market rates in aggregate and anonymously. No individual rate is ever shown there, and no figure is published below five profiles.
Can I approach a company myself?
No. You apply to an assignment, and it is the company that decides to open the conversation. That is what keeps cold approaches out, in both directions.
Frequently asked questions
Who can post an assignment?
Only the companies where the work is carried out. Agencies, consultancies, brokers and intermediaries of any kind cannot post. This is checked when you sign up, and the rule admits no exception.
Why that restriction?
Because it is the reason Tierless exists. A consultant who comes here knows the assignments are direct, with no middleman's margin between them and you. If we accepted intermediaries, we would be one more platform.
What does it cost?
Posting an assignment and reading the applications is free. To open a conversation with a consultant you need a subscription, from €99 a month, with no lock-in.
Do you take a commission on the assignment?
Never. Not on signature, not while the work is running, not on renewal. You contract directly with the consultant, and we are not party to that contract.
Are there any usage limits?
None. Assignments, applications and conversations are unlimited on the paid plans.
How do we pay?
By card, on the site. No invoice on terms, no purchase order, no supplier onboarding pack.
Why are the profiles anonymous?
So that you judge on track record and skills rather than on a name or a photograph, and so that consultants can look around without exposing themselves. You see everything except the identity: roles, skills with the years behind them, day rate, availability, verified legal status.
Do you rate the consultants?
No. No rating, no score, no ranking, no promoted profile. The order they appear in reflects how closely they match your brief, never a judgement of the person.
Do you vet the consultants?
We verify that their company legally exists, from public records. We neither check nor endorse their skills: that is your job, and we do not pretend to do it for you.
What happens once a conversation is open?
You deal directly. Tierless steps out: no chasing, no follow-up, no mediation. You pass each other your contact details if you wish, and you contract between yourselves.
And if the assignment falls through?
You have paid nothing beyond your subscription, which you can cancel at any time.
