Why Tierless exists

Ten years ago, marketplaces made a simple promise: companies and independent professionals would find each other directly, without going through a consultancy.

The promise did not hold. A platform that takes a percentage of every assignment has to justify what it takes. To justify it, it has to show service. To show service, it needs teams. To pay those teams, it needs volume. And to get volume, it needs salespeople.

At the end of that road, the platform looks like the thing it set out to replace.

Tierless starts from the other end. We take no commission on assignments. Our revenue comes from a flat-price subscription, paid by companies, which depends neither on the consultant's rate nor on the number of assignments signed. So we have no interest in rates going up, nor in holding on to anyone.

The rule everything rests on

Only the companies where the work is carried out may post an assignment. No IT services firms, no consultancies, no brokers, no introducers.

This rule costs us dearly. Intermediaries make up a large share of the market, they have sourcing budgets, and they would gladly pay. We turn them away because it is the only thing that assures a consultant that what they see here is real: a company, a need, and no one in between.

What we do not do

We rate no one. No stars, no score, no ranking, no promoted profile. There is nothing to earn and nothing to pay to move up.

We do not rewrite text. We structure the dates, the job titles and the skills so that one profile can be compared with another. The consultant's words stay theirs, with no rewording and no improving.

We take no part in the relationship. Once the conversation is open, Tierless steps out: no chasing, no follow-up, no mediation, no commission.

How it is built

Tierless runs almost without human intervention. Reading CVs and role descriptions, matching, company checks and availability reminders are all automatic. That is what makes the subscription possible at this price, and what guarantees that no salesperson has an interest in pushing you one profile rather than another.
